Your knowledge and demeanour make you the perfect coach, I would recommend you to anyone who is looking to challenge their imbalance, not just parents. Your sessions armed me with not only advice but the tools that made that advice fit for the future.

Coaching client, Director of Customer Success

Charlotte is an exceptional professional whose passion and professionalism is paramount in all her work. She is a true campaigner for the equity and inclusion of parents and mothers as they go through their parental journey with empathy and expert knowledge. Her flexibility in making product suit the customer and her ability to suit multiple workplace cultures is a true credit. Would highly recommend working with Charlotte in empower parents and embolden gender and LGBTQ+ equality in the workplace.

This workshop was timely for me as I’d only returned recently and I was feeling in need of some support and help with making the transition to the new normal. I think that the openness of the other participants in talking about how maternity leave was at the outset was really helpful, and Charlotte facilitated that. All of the content was helpful. I think the strengths spotting was interesting because it was a different and helpful perspective.

Fantastic session delivered! Lots of interesting content but presented very well. It honestly did not feel like a 2 hr session overall as Charlotte kept everyone well engaged and is very knowledgeable. I really enjoyed the Communication Grid example that was provided to make a clear summary of how managers can capture what colleagues do/do not wish to be updated on during their parental leave journey. I also liked the boundaries section around making a work-live balance more manageable and that colleagues should not feel guilty for doing so. Really important topic, especially for new parents too.

I found this session extremely useful to see what content is covered and provided overall. I have since reached out to our Comms Team to promote the session even further for both the POTP Line Manager and Colleague sessions available to all. I hope this helps reach a much wider audience rather than just those told as and when we deem the timing to be suitable at particular weeks of a parental leave journey. Some very interesting topics covered overall and some good tips and book recommendations to support even further outside of the session itself.

Great to catch up with Char today, she gets it! Char has a natural flair for coaching, after a relaxed chat you realise you’ve shared your problems, found your own solutions and committed to take action. I’m a HR professional and a Mum of 2 facing a bit of a cross roads in my life. Char really helped me think clearly about what I really want to do next, what’s important to me career wise and personally and how I’m going to go after it whilst staying true to my values. She also shared some great sources of information to guide me along the way. I’m a strong believer that having children adds to your character, you develop a range of new skills and enhance existing ones – judgement, reasoning, empathy, delegating, time management to name a few personal to me. These skills make me better at my job. Thanks for reminding me of that Char!

I started working with Charlotte on the recommendation of my Line Manager who saw that after returning to work following 9 months off Mat leave, the traumatic premature birth of my beautiful little girl (and the resultant PTSD) and coming back into new and dysfunctional team I was struggling. I work in Distribution Management and I have always been a high performer. Unashamedly before my daughter work was my main focus in life, all this changed and I felt like I couldn’t give 100% to either my work or home life and couldn’t find the right balance. My confidence was at an all time low and I felt I was letting everyone down. Working with Charlotte was like a hug and a kick up the bum in the same breath! Immediately likeable I found myself opening up to her with ease from the first session and being very honest about my struggles in a way I didn’t feel I could be in work. She gave me the tools to help me put things back into perspective, rebuild my confidence and resilience and find my own way (with a few gentle prods in the right direction) to deal with the in balance of life rather than trying to force it into balance. Her practical and empathetic approach to work problems enabled me to move forwards and become a better stronger version of myself, accepting and embracing the changes motherhood had made in me rather than being frustrated that I wasn’t the same person anymore. On the day of writing this I am proud to say I have just completed my annual review and whilst accepting the difficult start to the year, I have the confidence back to say I delivered a strong years performance personally and for my team and a fantastic record breaking peak. I am still a work in progress, but thanks to Charlotte I now have the understanding of the elements of my life and work that drain or empower me and what to do with this knowledge!

When I started working with Char 3 months ago I was really struggling with my confidence. I was unhappy in my job but struggled to see how I could make the move to launching my own business. I knew I could do it but was struggling with lots of mindset blockers.

Char was incredibly intuitive and picked up on my negative self talk before I did. She gently encouraged and supported me by asking questions to make me think about things in a different way. Char’s caring manner and genuine enthusiasm gave me the confidence to make small steps and provided coping strategies so that when my perfectionism and imposter syndrome try to get the better of me, I am equipped to answer my negative self talk and make progress towards my goals. I feel like I have gained a personal cheerleader through working with Char, I can’t recommend her highly enough.

Ellie, Business Owner

The coaching I did with Charlotte came at exactly the right time. After having two children I was in need of a confidence boost. By working with Charlotte for 6 months we explored ways to build confidence and it helped me understand my strengths and my needs in the workplace. Charlotte is a great listener, super friendly and I looked forward to every coaching session as I would come out buzzing and ready to take on the world!

Head of Fundraising, International Charity

I have just received my 1-1 coaching session with Charlotte, and I am amazed! The Strengthscope report was so accurate and portrayed me perfectly. During the discussion Charlotte bought it to life and helped me see opportunities for practical application. I have come away with a host of new ideas for improving my confidence and strengthening my positives. I feel re-invigorated and re-energised.

Project Manager for the Defence, Science and Technology Laboratory

Charlotte’s coaching has been invaluable for helping me prepare to return to work after maternity leave. It has improved my confidence for interviews for new job roles. Focusing on my strengths has highlighted to me why I enjoy particular job roles. Knowing my strengths and drainers will ensure I am happy and fulfilled at work now and in the future. It has given me a tool to discuss how I want me career to progress not just based on roles but on my strengths. Understanding my strengths has allowed me to select my future jobs role. The session notes taken by Charlotte have shown me how much I have learnt and will be a useful aid to refer back to. I am returning to work feeling confident in my choices thanks to my coaching with Charlotte.

Louise, Process Engineer

For someone who is in the process of adopting, I would say the workbook is great for someone in Stage 2 or post-approval and waiting for a match. It’s the perfect time to look at what’s important to you and how you want to approach the lead up to your adoption leave. These types of conversations have been in the back of my mind, but writing them down on paper now will make things easier and I feel more confident now knowing once I’m linked and things move quickly, I won’t have forgotten anything, and I’ve got a little roadmap to follow.

Preparing for a Strong Parental Leave workbook user

Charlotte did two sessions for us in February 2021 around some themes that have emerged for parents since the COVID 19 pandemic. She covered some key areas such as burnout and managing your energy rather than focusing on time pressures which our employees found incredibly insightful. Charlotte was knowledgeable and thought provoking but most of all looked at what our employees needed and created content that really worked.

HR business partner, Jellyfish Ltd

As a new mum returning to work there are a lot of anxieties and nervousness about stepping back into work life and balancing family life. Charlotte broke everything down into tangible steps and phases and assuring me that the feelings I had were totally normal. She gave me some excellent advice on setting boundaries both in the workplace and at home to ensure the right shape of work life balance that was right for me; you do you. Charlotte was personable and empathetic, and I felt I was able to open up and be totally honest within the session.

Kayleigh, secondary school teacher – coaching client

I loved the open forum which allowed everyone to share their experiences, worries etc… The content was perfect for me and left me feeling excited and more prepared from my return to work.
